Heber Doust Curtis

Heber Doust Curtis (June 27 1872January 9 1942) was an American astronomer.

He served as director of the Allegheny Observatory . He is best known as one of the participants in the "Great Debate" of 1920 with Harlow Shapley on the nature of nebulas and galaxies and the size of the universe.
