The Pathfinder Badge is a military badge of the United States Army which is awarded to those soldiers who have successfully completed the U.S. Army Infantry School’s Pathfinder Course. The badge was first issued in 1964. Until the mid 1980s, the decoration was known as the Jungle Expert Badge.
To be awarded the Pathfinder Badge, a soldier must complete instruction in jungle warfare, terrain negotiation, and advanced scouting. The badge is only awarded after completion of a final examination field conditions exercise.
