Robert Thurman

Robert Alexander Farrar Thurman (born October 14, 1932 in New York City) is Jey Tsong Khapa Professor of Indo- Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University and is the co-founder and president of Tibet House New York. At the age of 24, he became the first Western Tibetan Buddhist monk. He is the father of actress Uma Thurman.
