Sanyo Shinkansen

Sanyō Shinkansen (山陽新幹線; San'yō Shinkansen) is a line of Shinkansen high speed rail, connecting Shin-Osaka with Hakata Station in Fukuoka, and it is operated by West Japan Railway Company.

Timeline

March 15, 1972 The line is partially opened between Shin-Osaka and Okayama .

March 10, 1975 The line is fully opened.

March 18, 1993 The 300 Series Shinkansen starts services.

March 22, 1997 The 500 Series Shinkansen starts services.

March 13, 1999 The 700 Series Shinkansen starts services. Asa station is opened.

March 11, 2000 The Hikari Rail Star starts services.
