The United Democratic Party is the main opposition political party in Belize. It has 8 of 29 seats in the Belize House of Representatives . It was the party of former Prime Minister of Belize Manuel Esquivel. The present leader of the party is the Hon. Dean Barrow who is an elected member of the House of Representatives.
