Vacuum field equations

The vacuum field equations of general relativity (with zero cosmological constant) are:

Tab = 0 = Rab

where Tab are the components of the energy-momentum tensor and Rab are those of the Ricci tensor. Usually, reference to the cosmological constant is tacitly omitted (it being understood that it is taken to be zero).
