W.K. Wimsatt

William Kurtz Wimsatt, Jr. (19071975) was an American literary critic, remembered as one of the influential formalists known as the "New Critics". He is best known for two essays written with Monroe Beardsley, "The Intentional Fallacy" and "The Affective Fallacy", which were important documents of the New Criticism.
